Just for fun I reviewed some of our Website / SEO comments about websites we have been asked to comment on:
Hi, not sure if you can help us but I see you must be part of the business but since we have been asked to do the redesign and SEO of the website all email and phone contact has gone unanswered – we are trying to get in touch with anyone at the business regarding the website / outstanding invoices that we have – can you reply with an email address that I can use please as there is much more SEO work to complete.
Adding content is the key, so keep blogging, but there is loads of other things to do, you can do a lot yourself or get us to do some SEO on your website. If you have targeted keywords then we can work on that ranking for you. You also have the possibility to advertise on google (google PPC / Adwords) but that is a short term measure and can work out expensive.
Google have changed their algorithm to be more ‘content’ focused so with your big / unique websites, blogs and Facebook / trip advisor / twitter you are going in the right direction.
They have made a MASSIVE seo mistake – not going to go into it but whoever done this are COMPLETE amateurs ! they can design ok but they have about 10% the knowledge about SEO they should have.
They claim that they worked for Microsoft before, Hosted by Microsoft and one of there sites that they recently designed is getting 700 Visits per day and it has only been launched 3 months!
Its functional but full of errors and terrible SEO.
I think it is so important for a website to be easy on the eye though and not too busy.
They are the kind of website when I was doing my research I opened looked briefly at the front page and then couldn’t be bothered to go inside.
You have nothing to worry about in terms of competition – that site will never do that well in your competitive market, unless they have tonnes of money and years of time available to promote and market the site.
I saw a fair bit of matching text on their front page with yours but the good news is that is fine – Google knows everything. Its actually in your interest to let them leave your webcopy / text on their website.
Forgetting about the looks the SEO is poor to average – flashy designs never wins over ‘holistic’ website design.
Not sure what updates you are talking about but probably its not going to be on there if the website isn’t updated with anything you have that iss new – would appreciate you looking at the website pages and if not correct you can suggest design and SEO improvements.
Having both the .com and the co.uk domains for your website is a good SEO practise as you have owned them both for some time we will ensure that both have unique content and re-directing one to the other will not be as beneficial as having both domains (long term).
Regarding your Youtube account. Good / assume you have your own youtube channel – now fill it with interesting and good building videos.
If you have time I will explain further about the SEO options and the domain choices you have with the two of them.
Your website ranking has increased but more importantly so has visitor numbers (you are up over 120% month on month from 2011 – hope this translates to more enquiries and business for you, plenty of room to improve and having a twitter / facebook account can only help, make sure you fill in all your details on facebook / twitter especially adding your website as I cant see it on facebook and can’t find your account on twitter. I have ‘liked’ your facebook page.
Regarding an SEO program to increase your rankings, think we can schedule the work at the end of next month and continue for 3 months with 4 hours per week for three months which will fulfil the time requirements for our full SEO program. This is a huge amount of work to promote your website and will cost the agreed amount for the full 3 month program and will include new content / articles that will be written and put on other websites (article marketing). If you want to promote your website(s) but dont want to spend that amount of money then we can work on an hourly basis on your website or can do cut down SEO program for 1 month.
