I guess we have all done it at some time, that is, ask for quotes and information from a company that we have no intention of using, this customer from the US milked me for information about website design projects then blatantly told me he had previously given the job to someone else, the cheek of some people 🙂

[Website Client] Ok, I have a good visual. I want this site [link removed] but in the style of the photo attached (from your site).
[Website Designers] That site and indeed your current site are very easy on the eye and I am sure we can build something similar for you utilizing the image you picked out. We can incorporate twitter feeds and have done one for another client recently here http://www.katharinepaterson.com/ What are your requirements regarding the main image on the www.kenexa.com site? Would it have to be in ‘Flash’ or would you be happy with something else similar? Will you provide all text and content ?
[Website Client] As for the rotating pages, I would guess by looking that they were done in Flash but if you have a better idea or tech, I don’t have a preference per say. I do want to make sure it is optimized (I think that is the word) with HTML in the back so it can be searched online as I will be doing a lot of SEO.
As for the pages, I think I’ll need 9:
1 – Social Media Page: icon links to twitter, facebook, linkedin, etc.
2 – Company Page
3 – About Us
4 – Services
5 – The Team (photos and short bios)
6 – easily editable from my side (I’ll be using this to highlight a charity each month)
7 – easily editable from my side (I’ll be using this to highlight a product or partner company each month)
8 – Blog Page
9 – Jobs/Apply
[Website Designers] Optimisation is the word and flash doesn’t work on some browsers, or the ipad, iphone and it isn’t search engine friendly so we steer away from it normally (although we do it sometimes when clients specify it).
In summary you need a 9 page content management system (CMS) website with a scrolling gallery image viewer on the front page, along with a with a Blog, with social networking links / widgets with a customised look for the image you like. We can use the site you gave as a basis for your new site but can you give us some direction on how you want us to integrate that logo with your site.
[Website Client] Sorry, which logo are you referring to?
[Website Designers] The one you pointed out on our site (the globe with the usb lead) you said you want the kenexa site but in the style of that photo, wanted a bit more clarification about that
