1 Website should have at least 2 years run out before expiry. This ensures search engines don’t think you have a “throw away” domain name i.e. a short registration period.
2 Domain 301 Redirect the www. and the non www. version of the website can be considered different websites. Links to your site using a mix of www and non-www requests effectively split the benefit of your search engine optimization. Therefore ensure you have a redirect from one to the other.
3 All of your page titles need to be specific for the page they are on as well as being unique / different from one another, Ensure you have a title tags on every single page. You may be penalized in your website search engine rankings if you have duplicate content, the pages.
4 Put yourself in your customers shoes, what do you think your clients or  customers will type in a search engine to find your website, use this seed list of terms to give to your SEO / Website Designer who can confirm they are ‘appropriate’ and have a good volume. Then build your pages ensuring they are optimised for one / two search terms each.
