Hi, I wonder if you can help please. I already have my own website which I set up myself (with a little help from my Dad) and I am happy with it for its purpose. I am not happy though with the lack of business its bring in, some people say the website looks ok but I dont really like it.
I am looking at starting up my own babysitting company and my own nanny agency later this year and find my current site too simplistic / limited in what I can do to it.
Therefore I would be interested in setting up 2 new websites and would like them to be more advanced. I am currently with doteasy and I have the domain names I want (not signed these up to doteasy yet through) and they have come back to me and said that I can upgrade my account to use something called WordPress which apparently means I can advance my website etc. I am not overly ‘techno’ I have my 2 new logos which I am happy with but perhaps could be upgraded but I can get frustrated with technology. I was therefore wondering where your company could come in? If I upgraded my account and used WordPress if this something you can help me with?
From the message above you can learn some lessons before you try to do things yourself:
1, Dont concentrate on the looks of a website without planning and thinking about how it will rank in the search engines and earn you revenue.
2, A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, its nearly always more efficient to get some professional advise and work done on your behalf on your own website.
3, Thinking that ‘advancing’ your website is just to add a blogging platform / CMS to it is possibly short sighted, how do you want to advance your website? its possible that the hosting company just want an easy ‘fix’ for you to do and pay for something you dont really need.
4, Dont go mad buying domain names, its costly and time consuming leave us to buy your domain name and organise its hosting.
