Here is an example of a website project and how much time and effort we put into the initial meetings and proposals, a good tip if you start on a business idea and come to us as website designers is to have a clear, consise idea of what you want the website to achieve short term and long term and try to find a website that offers something similar to what you are offering.
Initial Website Project Proposal
We have spent some considerable time talking about your project and here are what we think are some best options for you.
Website purpose: One stop shop for all wedding services for the whole of the UK
From our meeting / conversations and looking at the current website we understand that you want us to develop a website having a primary function to act as a Business directory. As you know we do have experience in developing business directory websites and promoting them. Good cost effective advice would be to get us to create a directory for you in a similar manner to previously working business directories using your design / branding. You can suggest layout (framework) changes but the current general layout looks and works ok in my opinion but you would be feel free to suggest changes if we redesign it.
We can create your Wedding Services Directory that allows businesses a free entry for a certain period then paid for inclusion for example you can offer 12 months free then charge a cost per month. (options 2 and 3 below) We can allow you to have management of the advertisers and you can send them reminder emails to renew their entry and when the client renews their entry they will be given the choice of ‘packages’ that you determine.
The project prices doesn’t include any webcopy (text) it does include images that can be supplied / created for each website for the category sections and pages. The price does include full design (to your specification) and full support to get your website working and promoted in the search engines.
Option 1 Take over hosting of the current business directory and make improvements / changes are requested – Costs and time unknown without seeing the code
Option 2 Create a bespoke business Directory based on the working directories that we have created previously that allows automatic registration and billing of advertisers – Allows 40 business sectors to be listed in one or more areas (Counties) The system also allows you to add text specifically to each section (example you could write text on the Wedding Venues in Essex page) Includes category photos / graphics – Cost £4000 / Time – approx. 2-3 weeks
Option 3 New bespoke directory – a premium business directory that is responsive and fully content managed with the ability to build a community driven local business directories like Yelp.com, Google+ Places, or Yahoo! Local. Includes category photos / graphics
Cost £5000 / Time 3-4 weeks
Any package will include the correct migration from old website pages to new website pages (ensuring the search engines re-index the correct new pages), the design / optimising the site for the search engines / review of all the existing webcopy on the site (and adding more where appropriate) / Google Analytics setup / Google Local setup / Google Webmaster setup. In short there is nothing missed or nothing that will be charged for as an ‘extra’.
