Initially website is attractive and easy to navigate, its created using Squarespace which is not generally recommended as you cant easily export / take ownership of your website and you are the mercy of their price rises. Additionally you are hosted in the US on a server that has over 5 million websites on the same server / IP address.
After analyzing the website “https://www.childpsychotherapynorwich.co.uk” with the keyword “child psychotherapy,” here are some findings and suggestions for improvement:
- Robots.txt: The website does not appear to have a robots.txt file. It’s crucial to include a robots.txt file to communicate with web crawlers about which areas of your site they can access and index.
- Response Code: The website is accessible with a successful response code, indicating that it is up and running, which is good.
- Load Time: The load time of the website is 0.266 seconds, which is excellent. Fast loading times improve user experience and are favored by search engines.
- HTTPS Protocol: The website is using HTTPS, ensuring a secure connection. This is good practice for both user security and SEO.
- Viewport: The website’s viewport is not set to an initial-scale of 1. This is important for ensuring that your site is accessible and legible on mobile devices. Consider setting the viewport property to “width=device-width, initial-scale=1” for better mobile responsiveness.
- Title Tag & Meta Description: The meta descriptions are missing. These are critical for SEO as they help search engines understand the content of your pages. They also influence click-through rates from search engine results pages. Consider adding a descriptive title and meta description that include your main keyword.
- Headings (H1-H5): No headings were found on the page. Headings structure your content, making it easier for both users and search engines to read and understand. Ensure that your website utilizes H1 for the main title and H2-H6 for subheadings, incorporating relevant keywords.
- Keyword Occurrence: The keyword “child psychotherapy” does not appear in the URL or the body of the homepage. Including your primary keyword in these areas can help improve the page’s relevance to the topic.
- Image Alt Text & File Names: It seems there’s a lack of focus on optimizing images with alt text and file names. Using descriptive file names and alt text with relevant keywords can help search engines understand your images better, which can contribute to SEO. For example your about page photo is called Head+Shot.jpg
- Internal & External Links: There are broken links in the footer, attempting to direct users to Psychotherapy. Ensure your site has a healthy number of both, using relevant anchor texts. This not only helps with SEO but also improves user navigation.
- Image Quality – Images are not optimised / correctly sized / pixellated – example on the training supervision page of Monqiue Davis.
- Screen Real Estate The use of images and text needs to be reviewed as certain page contain huge images, for reference see the section on childhood difficulties at the large child image which has a strangely title additionlly (see point 9). Additionlly see below the faqs section on psychotherapy page.
- Plagerism: We noticed at least some of the text is copied from other resources directly (potentially illegal and terrible for Search Engine Optimisation) there is a large section of text on the psychotherapy page lifted directly or indirectly from this page https://tavistockandportman.nhs.uk/visiting-us/treatments/child-psychotherapy/
